Most Inspiring Persons in My Life vol. 2

Simo Häyhä is an inspiration to me, not because he was kill many of Russians but for his incredible courage and devotion to his homeland.
Simo Häyhä was born in a small town Rautjärvi, lying on Karolskej neck near the border with the Soviet Union (as of 1920-1940). Military service, he joined in 1925 for his excellent shooting skills (he was an avid hunter) he was given the task of snipers in the Finnish armed forces considered strictly committee's post. Finnish Snipers were worldwide elite.

After mobilization after seizing Finland November 30, 1939 the Soviet Union was a self-acting sniper assigned to the 12th Infantry Division Colonel Svensson, deployed in the area around the river Kollam. In this area, fought from the start fights (30 November 1939) to March 6, 1940, which suffered a serious injury after the intervention in the face (in the jaw) cluster Soviet sniper shot. Before he fell unconscious, he could even kill a Soviet soldier who caused his injury. Awake March 13, the day of the conclusion of peace.

During the three months of his tenure with the help of sniper rifles destroyed the 505 members of the Red Army (according to unofficial statistics 542). However, he considered these figures exaggerated. Furthermore, an additional data 219 by means of which the machine gun Suomi killed and these were not counted in the sniper player, that is, more than its 700 (average about eight per day).

Shortly after the end of the winter war by Marshal Hannerheim promoted from Corporal (fin. Carp) to lieutenant, the rank which is the biggest leap in the history of the Finnish army. Any further conflict is no longer involved (injury to him left a lasting consequences).
Mr. Simo Häyhä: Finnish hero and warrior.
Several years passed before he healed injuries. Soviet bullet destroyed his jaw and torn face. After the war, deal with breeding dogs and hunting. His last years were spent in the village Ruokolahti in southeastern Finland, 15 km from the Russian border. When asked in 1998 to the mystery of its accuracy, replied Practice. And its record high of more than 700 killed enemies commented, I did what I commanded you; best as I could.
Died 1 April 2002 aged 96 years.Honor his memory
